The Tower Project :   Started in 2004, the Friends of Bramcote Old Church Tower began the task of restoration of the 13th century, grade II listed church tower and the respectful regeneration of the closed and deconsecrated graveyard.  In 2010 Bramcote Old Church Tower Trust was formed and in 2015 an application for Heritage Lottery Funding was made. In 2017 it was granted and the work is on going.  The site is of historical importance locally and no longer associated with the church, but a public space for the community at the centre of the village of Bramcote.

It was a proud day for Bramcote old Church Tower Trust and its members. After several years of planning and hard work, with the support of funds from the Heritage Lottery, we could formally re-open the Tower site to the general public.

Sir Neil Cossons OBE, former chair of English Heritage, spoke to the guests and unveiled a plaque marking the occasion. The event was introduced by our chair, Peter Hillier and was followed by a talk from Geoff Nickolds, representing the Heritage Lottery Fund.  After Sir Neil Cossons OBE had unveiled the plaque Pat Ashworth gave a fitting closing speech.

Thank you to all who came to enjoy and give support to our Family Fun Day.

It was a great success for all involved and helped raise money for our necessary contribution to the Heritage Lottery Fund process.
