Welcome to the Bramcote Old Church Tower Trust website.

Welcome to the official website of the Bramcote Old Church Tower Trust.  We are the custodians of the remaining church Tower, the sole survivor of the original 12th-century church in Bramcote, Nottingham, England. Nestled in the deconsecrated grounds, our Tower proudly stands as the highest point in Bramcote.
As a registered charity, we are led by a dedicated team of Trustees, supported by a vibrant membership of individuals passionate about our cause. Together, we strive to preserve and celebrate the rich history embodied by this iconic Tower.
Explore these pages to learn more about our mission, the history of the Tower, and how you can join us in safeguarding this historical gem. Thank you for visiting, and we invite you to be a part of our journey in preserving Bramcote’s heritage.

Join us for an enriching evening of heritage and history! We delve into Nottinghamshire’s fascinating equine past with a captivating talk by Janine Buckley. From the grandeur of country estates to the depths of coal mines, discover the stories of Nottinghamshire’s unsung heroes – the equine workers and their stables. Janine Buckley, Historic Environment Officer for Nottinghamshire County Council, will unveil the intriguing tales unearthed through the Miner 2 Major Lottery funded project.

Through meticulous research, Janine sheds light on the often-neglected stables of Sherwood Forest’s historic estates, offering insights into the lives of those who once inhabited them. This endeavour has been made possible by the support of the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Copies of Janine’s recently published works on colliery pit ponies and country house stables will be available for signing. Attendees will have the opportunity to receive a complimentary copy.

We encourage you to join us following our AGM for an evening of intellectual engagement and celebration. We look forward to your presence.

The Tower Project started in 2004, when the Friends of Bramcote Old Church Tower began the task of restoration of the 13th century, grade II listed church tower and the respectful regeneration of the closed and deconsecrated graveyard.

In 2010 Bramcote Old Church Tower Trust was formed and a few years later further renovation was possible using Heritage Lottery Funding. The Heritage Lottery Funding funding has now finished but we still require funds to maintain our improved facilites.
